What To Expect

When you visit a new church, you feel a mix of emotions: excitement, curiosity, maybe even nervousness. Your mind floods with questions like: What should I wear? Where do my kids go? Where are the bathrooms? How will the congregation respond if my baby starts crying in the middle of the service?

We’ve all been there, and here at TLC, we want you to be completely comfortable when you visit.  If you happen to have found our site before coming to a service, take a moment to get some answers to some of the questions you might have.

Who is Transforming Life Church for?

Anyone and everyone. TLC is a place where it’s ok to not be ok–we want people from all walks of life to have a place where they feel loved by Christ and His people.

What Should I Wear to Church?

Clothes, period. As long as your body is covered, you’ll fit in just fine.  We will not judge you by your dress, appearance or personal preferences–wear whatever is comfortable to you.

What is the Service Like?

We begin our services with a time of corporate praise and worship followed by a biblically-based message from our leadership. At TLC you might hear some people singling loudly, others praying softly, a few folks dancing in the corner, or a group of worshippers standing in reverence or remaining in their seats, quietly observing. We love and accept them all. At TLC, we want to give people the freedom to respond to God in whatever manner they desire.

What is the Music Like?

Our worship band usually consists of guitars (electric, acoustic and bass), a keyboard, drums, and an occasional saxophone backing up the voices of multiple singers. We try to stick with songs that have meaningful lyrics, but are still easy to learn and follow along with. Most of our worship is contemporary but we also like to play some older, more traditional, songs as well.

Will I be Pestered for Money?

We prefer that our visitors keep their money in their pockets unless they feel moved to give. We do take up an offering to help pay bills and maintain the facilities, but you are under no obligation or expectation to give. If you like us and decide to make us your church home, then we do encourage giving to God and His church so we can continue reaching others.

What About My Kids?

You are always free to keep your children with you during the service if you prefer; however, we do offer a dynamic children’s program during the regular church service every other week. We believe that it is important for our children to know and understand what “big church service” looks and feels like; it’s not so different from their own! We have something to fit all children ages 0-12. We strive to keep a safe, fun, and Christ filled environment for teaching and encouraging children.
